OUR STORY

Van-Griner’s leadership has over 18 years of college publishing experience. Our background includes award-winning success and recognition in sales, editorial, custom and printing.

Philosophy

As we stand in our customers’ doorway, they often tell us they would like to publish a product that is less expensive to their current text but that they lack the resources and or time to complete the project. Others will elaborate that over the years they have compiled materials for their course, but they don’t resemble a book or manual and taking it the next step doesn't fit their schedule. Our philosophy is to help you execute the publishing needs of your course and students by providing you the required resources in a service oriented way. As one of our customers recently told us:

“The final product is of the utmost highest quality. The people at Van-Griner were all very pleasant and helpful and a pleasure to work with. If they were not so organized and diligent it would have been a very stressful process.”

These comments and other customer observations are learning opportunities for us and consistently serve to define the core of our business philosophy. We work backwards from our customers’ needs to develop innovative solutions like providing a project manager from start to finish, giving the author the option to be involved as much or as little as they want to be, and not hijacking the copyright to serve our needs.

By sitting in our customers’ classrooms and labs talking to students and administrators, we continually redefine what their needs are and innovate from their points of view and not ours.

Why Select Van-Griner

Customers select us when they are searching for a publishing partner committed to the same goals they have for their products. Our customers select us because of our 18 years of publishing experience, our versatility and our commitment to excellent service and quality at an affordable price.

“I cannot imagine a publisher being more supportive than Van-Griner. I truly felt like I was the only author with whom they were dealing– responses to questions were answered almost immediately and drafts moved back and forth without delay. The good-looking, well-designed textbooks arrived in the bookstore in a timely fashion and instructor’s copies were sent out quickly. I highly recommend Van-Griner, and I recommend that any professor who is concerned about the outrageous price of textbooks contact them. With their help, you can write your own text.”
– Martha Zimmerman, University of Lousiville

“The workbook has been an invaluable resource for the College Algebra classes.  Our project manager made the entire process flow beautiful.  Without her encouragement, suggestions, and feedback the workbook would not have been a success.  Thank you and everyone on your staff for making the entire process work well.”
– Sandra Franz, University of Cincinnati

“I have been in the higher education business for nearly thirty years.  During that time I have had the opportunity to get to know a variety of publishing representatives and publishing companies.  My experiences with Van-Griner stand head and shoulders above the others.  This is truly a unique collection of individuals with a passion for innovation.  President Dreis Van Landuyt personifies this passion; he brings wit and engagement to a product that is simply unsurpassed.   Van-Griner is your best bet for 21st century publishing.”
– William Rayens, University of Kentucky

“The whole manual came together so nicely. Working with the graphic artist to create the pictures that had been in my head for so long was delightful. Because my manual looks so professionally done, and the students have a place for their notes, graphs, questions, and sketches, I feel that my class goes so much smoother. Students can look back and see the big picture of what their Biology course has provided.”
– Amy Hollingsworth, Akron University

“I received the 104 and 105 lab manual desk copies today, and had some fun paging through them.  I am happy with the look of them, and am interested in getting them into use this fall! Thanks again for all your help, and for being so easy to work with.  It makes a difference!  Again, thank you for a reasonable experience.  I’ve certainly had “other”!”
– Susan Weinstein, Marshall University

"Thank you so much, the manuals are outstanding. The whole experience has been great from the beginning to the end of the process.  You are wonderful at your job!!!  Kudos to you for your talent and professionalism.  I look forward to working with you in the future.”
– Deborah Dempsey, Northern Kentucky University

“…you and your company did a very fine job. I really appreciate your work on the figures!”
– University of Akron

“Thanks to both of you for all the hard work, and for your impressively speedy manner in which you completed this project!”
